After two decades in Trust and Investment Banking, Steff co-founded Fiduciary Consulting & Governance Group Inc.

He previously served as Executive Director of The Retirement Advisor University, a collaboration with UCLA, Anderson School of Management Executive Education from 2010 through 2023. During his tenure, The Retirement Advisor University educated over 1,500 retirement plan professionals with a focus on Behavioral Finance, Decision Theory and Making Decision-making Under Uncertainty. The Certified 401(k) Professional designation represents a significant achievement for the professional retirement plan advisor. This comprehensive and highly specialized certification program requires academic aptitude, real-world experience and the application of core competencies.

Mr. Chalk also served as Executive Director of the Plan Sponsor University, from 2013 through 2023, where he oversaw education, staffing and curriculum for over 525 programs delivered at over 80 colleges and universities. These programs focused on fiduciary education of over 9,200 plan sponsors with over eleven million plan participants and retirement plan assets in excess of $713 Billion.

Executive Director of The Retirement Advisor University, a collaboration with UCLA, Anderson School of Management from 2010 through 2023 – educated over 1,800 retirement plan professionals with a curriculum focusing on behavioral finance, decision-making theory and bringing the future to you.

Executive Director of 401KTV and The Plan Sponsor University from 2013 to 2023 – overseeing curriculum, classroom and online-education, at over 80 colleges and universities. (Educated over 9,200 plan sponsors with over eleven million retirement plan participants with assets over $700 billion.)

Founded CHALK Advisory Board – which served in a fiduciary capacity to over $28 billion of retirement plan assets. Assignments included original research for: Chilean Pension System; Finance Ministry of Kuwait, Central Bank of Egypt, Arab-African International Bank and Turkish Self-funded Retirement System.

Steff was an Instructor at Northern Kentucky University Finance for ten years, where he established the 401(k) Advisory Index and served as Founding-faculty of the Northern Kentucky University of the Economics Camp.

Steff graduated Central Michigan University with Bachelor of Science in Finance and Masters in Administration.

Co-author of the book “How To Build a Successful 401(k) and Retirement Plan Advisory Business” (used by industry professionals and as a textbook at under-graduate and post-graduate students). Steff also authored a national column in 2 industry publications over 20 years.
